The Steigenberger Hotel is housed in red brick building, which, though modern, is designed in the traditional Hanseatic style characteristic of Northern Germany. The large open plan lobby is very bright due to the large windows, which offer a view of the Alster canal. The guestrooms are large and bright with light wooden furniture and a warm, welcoming colour scheme. They are decorated in a modern in style and exceptionally well maintained, as are the bathrooms.
